For 14 years, Jeremiah Brown grew alongside First Tee — Greater Philadelphia, taking advantage of opportunities that helped shape both his golf game and the person he is today. Now, he is a senior at The Catholic University of America, where he is majoring in psychology and competing on the men’s golf team.
Throughout his time with First Tee, Jeremiah participated in several impactful programs, including First Tee — Greater Philadelphia’s Caddie Academy, National Opportunities like the PURE Insurance Championship, and he is also a recipient of the First Tee National Scholarship. Each experience challenged him to grow, build meaningful relationships, and develop skills that have continued to serve him in college and beyond.
When reflecting on his First Tee experience, Jeremiah says the program gave him much more confidence than a foundation in golf. It helped him discover who he is and instilled the confidence to embrace his authentic self.
“The biggest lesson I learned was that people accept you for who you are and you don’t have to change or conform to feel accepted by others. Being a part of this diverse program shows how everyone is different and it’s those differences that make every person unique.”
Those lessons continue to guide Jeremiah as he balances academics, collegiate athletics, and preparing for the future. The confidence, character, and life skills he developed through First Tee have helped him navigate new challenges while staying true to himself.
