We were thrilled to bring our community together for a memorable fall evening that raised more than $86,000 in support of the First Tee – Greater Philadelphia Academic Scholarship program.
Our guest speaker was Paul McGinley, a three-time Ryder Cup champion, 2014 European Ryder Cup captain, and acclaimed broadcaster for Golf Channel and Sky Sports. Thank you, Paul, for sharing your time, stories, and insights, and thank you to St. David’s Golf Club for hosting a wonderful evening. With 150 guests in attendance, the laughter was contagious.

Meet Brayden
First Tee participant Brayden Holland, a senior at The Haverford School, spoke to our guests about the impact the scholarship has had in his life. Brayden plans to study biology in college and hopes to play on the golf team.
“I joined First Tee 9 years ago, and from the very beginning, it became much more than a golf program. It has been a place where I learned responsibility, confidence, and the importance of character. The coaches and mentors I have met through First Tee have guided me not only in the sport, but in how to carry myself in everyday life. Their support has played a significant role in my development as both a student and a young adult.
As I look toward the future, I plan to pursue studies in biology and play golf in college to build a career that allows me to help others and contribute positively to my community. First Tee has played an important role in shaping those aspirations by teaching me discipline, integrity, and the value of giving back.
I want to thank everyone here this evening. Your support of First Tee makes opportunities like mine possible. The proceeds from tonight’s event will help fund the next group of Academic Scholarship recipients, and I can say from personal experience that your generosity truly has an impact.”
Brayden’s story shows what First Tee is all about: using golf to help young people build confidence, character, and the skills to succeed in life.
