On Friday, July 10, First Tee — Greater Philadelphia is honored to welcome the United States Amateur Championship Trophy to John F. Byrne Golf Club as part of the Golf Association of Philadelphia’s Pennsylvania Golf Day celebration.
The trophy will travel throughout the Philadelphia region, highlighting the organizations, facilities, and partnerships that make golf stronger across the Commonwealth. We are incredibly grateful to the Golf Association of Philadelphia for including First Tee — Greater Philadelphia among this year’s featured stops and for recognizing the impact youth development programs have on growing the game.
During the visit, the spotlight will be on our mission of building character, confidence, and leadership in young people through the game of golf. The stop also coincides with GAP’s Adaptive Golf Play Day at John F. Byrne Golf Club, creating a meaningful opportunity to celebrate how golf brings people of all ages and abilities together.
We’re proud to host the Adaptive Golf Play Day and support programming that helps make the game more welcoming and accessible for everyone. Seeing golfers of all abilities enjoying the game alongside the U.S. Amateur Trophy is a fitting reminder that golf has the power to create opportunities, build community, and inspire the next generation.
Adding to the excitement, members of our PGA Jr. League teams will also be at John F. Byrne Golf Club during the visit, giving many of our young participants the chance to see the trophy up close. Experiences like these help connect young golfers to the broader game and inspire them to dream big about what is possible.
This August, the 125th U.S. Amateur Championship will be hosted at Merion Golf Club, one of the most historic championship venues in the world. We look forward to celebrating this incredible event and hope to have many First Tee — Greater Philadelphia volunteers helping welcome players and fans throughout championship week.
