The Herb Lusk First Tee Academic Scholarship is awarded annually to one or more First Tee students as an academic scholarship to attend the Roman Catholic High School. Rev. Lusk was the pastor of the Greater Exodus Baptist Church who dedicated his life to breaking the vicious generational cycle of poverty in the lives of economically challenged residents of Philadelphia. Mickie Goodson shared, “it has impacted us in such a great and positive way. Being at Roman Catholic is giving Jayden a top tier education. As a single parent, the scholarship has allowed me to keep Jayden where he needs to be and that’s at Roman.”
The Herb Lusk Academic Scholarship was initiated by friends of Reverend Lusk to honor this great community leader, to help inspire our next generation of students, and to give back to the local community.
There is currently a dollar-for-dollar match up to $100,000 being offered by an anonymous donor to grow the scholarship and impact more students.
